Outreach specialists work with women in need of treatment to link them to needed services, identify and reduce barriers to treatment and support them during and after treatment. They also work with women and adolescents who are coping with substance abuse by family and friends. Additionally, outreach workers meet with pregnant women in several community settings to promote the birth of drug-free babies.
